Over the past eight years Kehilat Shanghai has grown into a vibrant and welcoming progressive Jewish community. Through the dedication of our members we offer a variety of Jewish education programs, social clubs, community Shabbat dinners, professional networking opportunities, Jewish holiday services and celebrations and much more. Tov! education program

Sunday Education Program, twice per month. Experiential activities and learning for students ages 2-12, teen madrichim and adult learning "Tov Talks". Students learn Hebrew, prepare for B'nai Mitzvah and strengthen their Jewish identiies and sense of Jewish community.


PJ Library

PJ Library and PJ Our Way provide Jewish-themed children's books to members of our community, as well as Jewish families living in other parts of China. Families can grow their home library collections with these monthly deliveries!

celebrating shabbat

Kehilat Shanghai organizes regular Shabbat services and dinners in various locations around Shanghai, including a monthly home-hosted Family Shabbat, partnered events with our local Moishe House, and welcoming frequent guest speakers and visiting groups!

BBYO Shanghai and Teen Programming

BBYO Shanghai chapter offers monthly programs and opportunities for Jewish teens in Shanghai (ages 12-18), including social, cultural, and community-building activities. Our teens also participate in bi-annual regional teen retreats run by Asia Progressive Judaism (APJ), an opportunity to meet other Jewish teens living around Asia.

Kehilat Shanghai invites rabbis, cantors and other Jewish leaders from around the world to lead us in Passover, High Holidays, and other holiday celebrations throughout the year. We organize family-friendly celebrations for every major Jewish holiday.


Jewish Young Professionals Network

Networking, learning and social opportunities for young professionals living and working in Shanghai. Events include Shabbat dinners, lectures and speakers, and evenings out.



Social and Community Activities

Members and friends of our community enjoy meeting one another through social initiatives, such as the Scotch and Cigars club.
